Fence In That Court
In Missouri, the Wildwood City Council issued new permitting requirements for sports courts that should be of interest to fencing contractors.
Not surprisingly, the most populous states (with the exception of Kentucky) have more fencing contractors overall. California leads, followed by Texas, Florida and Kentucky. Statistics courtesy of the US Department of Labor.
According to the US Department of Labor, there is a wide range in the concentration of fencing professionals as well as the pay scale. The annual mean wage of fencing profes- sionals varies, and indicates that San Bernar- dino county in California, central California, parts of Washington state, areas in Florida and spots in the New England area of the east coast pay the best. The new regulations require that sport courts must have net- ting, fencing or boards to control the flight of projectiles, and in- clude landscape screening.
Fix The Fence Or Else
In Gary, Indiana, property owners are now responsible for maintaining their fences or see them removed at the owner's expense under a new fence ordinance. Also, chain link fences must be screened.
