34 LC DBM I n f o r m a t i o n R e q u e s t # 4 1 3 New standards being developed by committees of the American Concrete Institute include obtaining durability in concrete design and construction (Com - mittee 201), of which there is currently little information about according to the institute, and using prediction tools to perform service life assessments of structures (Committee 365). The new standards will include both design codes and construction specifications. The committees are accepting applications to help prepare these two standards. www.concrete.org . ASTM International announced a new standard (C1851) that outlines a way to quantitatively determine the extent and causes of cracking in construction sealants.
