As Heart of Texas Veteran One Stop, located in Waco, Texas, prepared to move to their new facility, they had a major piece of the puzzle miss - ing: signage for their new location. Enter Boulder Designs and Border Magic, a franchise company headquartered in Waco, Texas, and located liter - ally around the corner from the veterans' facility. "When the word went out that Veteran One Stop needed signage for their new facility we knew we wanted to help," stated Butch Mogave - ro, CEO of the franchise. "Our men and women who serve in the military hold a special place in my heart and the hearts of those who work for our company." Boulder Designs constructed a large boulder for signage along with a companion rock. The companion rock has indentations in the shape of stars to proudly display the name of those persons or companies that donated their time and talent. Their sister company, Border Magic, provided the border of the landscaped area, and both compa - nies donated the landscape materials and plants to complete the project. It took 3-5 weeks, and installation of the boul - ders was unveiled at a ribbon cutting ceremony. "Our team of volunteers answered the call to en - sure the project was completed before the dedica- tion of the new facility," says Mogavero. Founded in 2013, Heart of Texas Veterans One Stop provides veterans and their families a facility where a variety of fundamental services can be accessed at one location. Veterans One Stop offers assistance, camaraderie, education, and informa - tion to veterans, as well as their dependents. Boulder Designs creates natural looking, cost effective site markers and signage for businesses, parks, schools, and recreation facilities. Border Magic installs concrete landscape edging, as well as decorative walkways, stepping-stones, and commercial curbs. LC DBM If you have a project where landscape services were donated pro bono, you can submit your Off the Clock proposal to: stewardship@landscapeonline.com or call Mike Dahl at (714) 979-5276 x124. Story Ideas? After moving to a new facility in Waco, Texas, Heart of Texas Veterans One Stop was in need of signage for their entrance. Boulder Designs and Border Magic donated materials and time to create a boulder sign and the surrounding landscape. Companion rocks display donors' names on engraved stars.
