As reported by India Today, over 1,400 inch - es of water can permeate through this concrete per hour. Not only will the use of this material potentially help limit urban flooding, it recharges local aqui - fers and filters petroleum hydrocarbons on the roads. The source does caution however that the level of water absorp - tion may vary from area to area depend- ing on particular climatic conditions. SWAT - The Smart Water Ap- plication Technologies initiative, which works to assist water provid - ers in promoting landscape water- use efficiency, has a new regional resources page on its website and is developing an educational pro - gramming library with the goal of helping water providers learn from one another. They are also putting out a questionnaire focused on collecting details about local outreach and/or activities aimed at educating contractors on the importance of efficient water use. The information will be used to create an inventory of educational one-pagers detailing program implementation and lessons learned.
