The study showed that when these materials were combined with a traditional concrete mix of Portland cement, aggregate and water, they increased the amount in that mix of calcium silicate hydrate, a key to concrete's strength. And nano platelet-infused concrete was more dense than its traditional counterpart, thereby weathering deterioration better. To help improve a company's work with self-consolidating concrete, a very fluid mix that; closely follows the shape and surface texture of a form, is almost self-leveling and doesn't need vibration or tamping to properly set, the American Con - crete Institute is offering the ACI Self-Consolidating Concrete Testing Technician certification program. Individuals will be tested based on their technical knowledge and ability to prop - erly adhere to five ASTM standards to measure the concrete's fresh properties including slump flow, passing ability and static segregation. The certification test - a written exam and a per - formance exam - can be taken at one of ACI's network of more than 120 sponsoring groups. www.
